Daily deep sea fishing trips for Los Angeles residents and visitors are available from Newport Bay. Newport Landing is just a short drive south of downtown Los Angeles located in the beautiful beach community of Newport Beach. Newport Landing provides open party (general admission) deep sea fishing trips of varying trip lengths from half day to full day options and longer. Each fishing trip takes place on one of our modern fishing ships and has crew members onboard to assist with any needs you might have during your trip. Areas commonly fished include Catalina Island, a legendary Los Angeles fishing locale. Catalina Island is one of the Channel Islands and is known for its deep waters running very close to shore. Larger gamefish such as yellowtail that can reach 40 pounds or more and are regularly targeted in the crystal blue waters of Catalina Island along with a huge number of other fish species.

Fishing Los Angeles Beaches

Many of the beaches in Los Angeles offer year round fisheries with several species of surf perch, corbina, halibut, yellowfin croaker, and other surf species regularly caught. Popular surf fishing locations in Los Angeles include several Santa Monica beaches, the many beaches in Malibu, and the beach in Marina Del Rey. Light line and finding deep pockets of water just outside the shoreline usually during incoming tides is the best bet for finding the most productive fishing.

Fishing Los Angeles Piers

Several piers are available to fish from in Los Angeles including Santa Monica Pier, Venice Pier, and Redondo Beach Pier. Many species of saltwater fish are caught on these piers with surf gamefish found close to the shoreline and halibut, sharks, and other open water gamefish further out on the pier.

Fishing LA Jetties

Los Angeles has several jetties to fish from including the North Jetty Marina Channel & Cabrillo Beach Jetty. Jetties offer some of the same fishing opportunities as piers with surf gamefish found closer to the beach and halibut, mackerel, and deeper water gamefish further out on the jetty.
